Compass CHC secures family over £265,000 reimbursement of care fees with successful continuing healthcare claim

Following a successful retrospective claim at NHS England, Compass CHC, the continuing healthcare experts have secured a refund of care fees of over £265,000.

In this case, Compass CHC instigated a retrospective assessment with the NHS. Whilst the initial assessment process, and later appeal with the Integrated Care Board found against a finding of a primary health need, Compass CHC advised the family to progress with an appeal with NHS England. Following an Independent Review Panel, NHS England agreed that the patient met the criteria retrospectively, and our client has now received reimbursement of over a quarter of a million pounds.

Currently, it is possible to request a retrospective review of Continuing Healthcare Funding entitlement for any period after 1 April 2012, provided that the period being reviewed is classed as an ‘unassessed period of care’. * This means that the period under review must not have already been reviewed by the NHS Integrated Care Board.
